Students of the Month – January 2019

The Janesville Lions Club is proud to present its Students of the Month for January 2019. The club honors two students from each of Janesville’s two public high schools during each month between October and May every school year.

During their month, the students attend our bi-monthly meetings and learn more about the Lions Club and our community service projects. Each student receives a certificate signed by the Lions Club president in honor of being selected as a Student of the Month.

The following information has been provided by the students and is presented using their words:

Senior, Craig High School

Parents: Patricia Forbish & Robert Stenzel

Clubs/extracurricular activities: Spotlighters Varsity Show Choir, National Honors Society, Spanish Honor Society, Art Honor Society, Science Honor Society, and Tri-M Music Honor Society.

My interests include: I enjoy singing and dancing, and all things music related. I love my family and my pets, and enjoy any and all I have to spend with them. I like challenging myself with the difficult, yet interesting, classes that I take.

Post-graduation plans: Attend Blackhawk Technical College to study diagnostic medical sonography

Clubs/extracurricular activities: National Honor Society, Science Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Blue Ribbon Club, Spanish Club, International Club, Link Crew, Janesville Explorers.

My interests include: Spending time with family, traveling, and working.

Post-graduation plans: Attend a 4-year university to major in Criminology and Law in a Pre-Law Program. I am also interested in Psychology and Neuroscience.

Additional comments: My goal is to return to the community after graduation and give back to the area that I was raised in.

Parents: Chris & Frank Sullivan

Clubs/extracurricular activities: Football and Track and Field.

My interests include: Math, watching football and basketball, and spending time with friends and family.

Post-graduation plans: Attend University of Wisconsin-Whitewater to pursue a Bachelors of Science in Education. I wish to teach Math and Computer Science.

Additional comments: To prepare for my hopeful future in teaching I have peer-assisted in Math 2, Math 3, Programming 1, and Web Design during the last 4 semesters of school.


Unfortunately our second Parker High School student was unable to participate this month. We hope to feature her as an upcoming Student of the Month.
