Help us upgrade Lions Beach
When COVID-19 hit (and decided to stick around), our club was forced to cancel its two annual fundraisers: our springtime Rose & Carnation Sale and the late-summer Chicken Roast. These events comprise the vast majority of the funds we use each year to support local service projects, vison-related charities, and more.
However, we’re not going to let the pandemic hold us back, so we created a brand-new, contactless fundraiser that will support our efforts to make a major improvement to Lions Beach in honor of our club’s 100th anniversary in May 2022.
We’ll send a greeting card on your behalf to a friend, family member, or loved one
We have teamed up with two local artists — Hallie Kohn and Nancy McKinnon (a former Lion) — to produce commemorative greeting cards for a contactless fundraiser. All you need to do is supply all the details, pay online ($7 per card), and we’ll handle the rest, including addressing the envelope, affixing postage, and dropping it into the mailbox.
Each card contains an inspirational quote by Helen Keller, who attended the 1925 Lions Clubs International Convention and challenged Lions to become “knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness.” The Lions accepted her challenge and our work ever since has included sight programs aimed at preventable blindness.
How to order
Choose a card design and tell us who you’d like us to send it to. There’s even a space where we’ll hand-sign a short greeting of your choice, so the recipient knows how thoughtful you were to send them some good, old-fashioned U.S. Mail!
To keep all of the info straight and to ensure each card gets to its intended recipient, we ask that you fill out the form below for each card you’d like to send.
* Would you rather purchase blank cards and envelopes and send them out yourself? Contact us and we’ll make arrangements to get them to you!
Thanks for supporting the Janesville Noon Lions Club
We are currently working with the City of Janesville on plans for a major project at Lions Beach, so stay tuned for a big announcement and public fundraising campaign in early 2021!
